Top Trump White House adviser and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, secretly talked to the Russians about setting up a covert line of communications between the Trump transition and the Kremlin, using Russian diplomatic facilities, in an effort to avoid monitoring by US intelligence, according to US officials who spoke to the Washington Post.
They were talking about using Russian embassies as safe spaces to have highly-classified discussions with Vladimir Putin’s senior advisers. Why? So they could hide their talks from the CIA, NSA, DOD, and State Department.
Who does that?
Former acting director of the CIA, John McLaughlin, said that if this report is true, “we’d consider it espionage.”
We’ve been down this path before. A senior Trump White House official under investigation for allegations that could be considered espionage is given a pass, and permitted to continue in his job at the White House, and attend the most highly-classified of meetings. Before it was Michael Flynn. Now it’s Jared Kushner.
In a normal White House, in a normal administration, as soon as someone is under FBI investigation for potentially conspiring with the Russians — for possible espionage — they temporarily lose their security clearance and are put on administrative leave, because you can’t afford the risk of them continuing to receive classified information.
We don’t know if Jared Kushner was following Trump’s orders. We don’t know if this was an effort, as was reported by Reuters, to possibly broker the easing of US sanctions in exchange for money flowing from Russia banks to Trump business ventures and allies. What we do know is that Donald Trump’s most trusted confidante was involved in something so sensitive that he trusted the KGB more than the CIA.

Oh, his he next on the list? Well, OK, then!
Trump felt Jared was cock blocking him from Ivanka. So there’s that.
Who else? Stephan Miller of course.
Yeah forget the Russia connections. Jared is pro LGBT. What? Hollywood is not good enough for you? You need this putz to stand up for you? Get a clue, America is not cowed by Jared.
Don’t fall for it. Like as not, Bannon led him down this primrose path for the sole purpose of chopping him off at the knees and eliminating a semi-progressive rival on policy. Don’t follow along and let that happen. We need Kushners LGBT perspective in the White House.
It’s gross because it’s true
Trump won’t fire Kushner. It’s just won’t happen. Trump is running a family scamming operation and needs Kushner and Ivanka to direct the graft.
Fire Jared, take away his security clearance, and his passport. He should then be charged with perjury (for his security clearance paperwork). Other charges to follow.
But if they did that, then who would run the executive branch? Trump isn’t going to do it…
So JK trusts the Russian intel, but he does not trust the US intel. Perhaps he should move to Russia so he can secure his sensitive bank loans or protect some new real estate project for his father-in-law without US interfering.

You mean he’s jealous of the guy who’s nailing the girl he wants to date?
The technical term for what needs to be done is administrative suspension of clearance pending investigation. It is amazing to me that Trump’s “very best people” with “the very best minds” who are graduates of the “best” schools can’t accurately and completely fill out the security clearance forms that maintenance workers, some of whom only have GEDs, manage to complete every day.
Maybe Trump set up Jared to be the fall guy. Probably never really liked his son-in-law. Maybe Ivanka doesn’t like him either. The Russians and Trump probably have so much on those Republican-congress-Trump-suck-ups that impeachment of Trump is at their own peril. Maybe Trump is going to make a soap opera drama out of the entire scandal. If only the whole thing were a nightmare that will go away when we wake up.
