Actually they differ by a very few strands of DNA. Differentiation from several hundred feet above the earth would be virtually impossible. Amazing actually.
O’Reilly, in his apology, should have told the whole story. The event was boycotted by the GOPTEA. Disgraceful conduct by a party dominated by hate and bigotry. They no longer even bother to pretend. Limbaugh sure proves this every time he opens his mouth.
Rush has several times admitted that he patterned his on-air delivery after Larry Lujack, a now retired Chicago rock radio DJ who used sarcasm in his act. For the record, Lujack apologized creating a radio delivery for Rush to copy during an appearance on Chicago Tonight a few years ago. But having listened to Lujack during morning drive on WLS (before it became a right-wing talk outlet) I can state that Rush isn’t anywhere near Lujack. Lujack could hypnotize chickens; Rush can only mesmerize uniformed fools.
It has to do with the structure of church hierarchy. The Orthodox churches are autoencephalic, which means that there is no central government. The Western church was ruled by the power structure in Rome, which was always about power — raw political power — and left it open to rampant corruption almost from Day 1.
Maybe Limpback was confusing himself with Martin Luther, whom too many Americans don’t even know due to their ignorance of history. Note to John: there never was a Reformation of the Orthodox Church, which intrigues some question as to why.
Perhaps the caller was full of oxytocin and Viagra as well!
Rush is seriously on silly pills if he thinks MLK’s Dream speech sounds like something on his program. His has been more like “I have to demean…” when it comes to Civil Rights. Maybe those tabloid rumors are right that his third wife treated him the way Maggie treated Jiggs in the ancient “Bringing Up Father” comic strip and he has been permanently addled by too many vases and frying pans to the head.
“Rush Limbaugh behaves yet again in a grossly offensive and insensitive manner”
There, post title fixed. ;-)
But yeah — the coverage from Hate TV couldn’t have been more jarring. They tried in turns to make Dr. King sound like a Republican, an extreme conservative, and a right-wing ideologue whose message was co-opted by liberals — or a dangerous radical who threatened to overthrow the U.S. government in favor of communism.
Either way, none of them addressed the substance of Dr. King’s often stated goals of racial and economic equality of opportunity for all.
Apparently the Republican energy solution is to get every civil rights leader and founding father rolling in their graves so fast that the friction generates power.
The Republicans have a bizarre obsession with trying to claim Dr. King would have been on their side, really he would have. In a way it demonstrates a weird and twisted respect for the man; that’s something, anyway.

And this is why drugs are a bad thing: It fries the brains and makes you delusional.

Oh, he’s on pills all right. There’s even an arrest to prove that.
With things like this around, I’m going to need to keep and emesis basin near my laptop.
They refused because they couldn’t figure how to work “repeal Obamacare” into a speech about MLK.
Oh, Good God. I’m speechless. Cannot even whip up a sarcastic remark.

I suppose if he would hallucinate enough, he’d confuse Martin Luther with a fictional character. How about the Joker in Batman?
precisely what my history professor said — it had to do with power, not religion.
BTW — I think perhaps Limpballs is confusing himself with Lex Luther.

rush & mlk have one thing in common, assholes, limbaugh is one and mlk had one.

Boner and Cantor were invited to speak at the “I Have a Dream” ceremony. Both refused.
This is moronic acid. Rush overdosed on it a long time ago and it hasn’t worn off yet.
Naja, Dan and nicho, thank you all. I need to change my pants now.
There must be a level below vile with which to describe Rushbag—-maybe ‘zombie fail’ would work.
Can someone write him a nice big prescription for oxycotin and viagra so he’ll go away?
I am a nightmare

Minority outreach continues. Impressive.
Oh yes totally Rush you are sooooo MLK like – gosh poor Dr. King must be rolling in his grave over this one. Way to get the votes for the GOP….
