Romney-backed Senate candidate: God wants women to have rape-babies

UPDATE: Zeke Miller at Buzzfeed reports that Mitt Romney has come out to say that he disagrees with Mourdock’s rape comments, and the campaign refused to respond when asked if Romney still endorses Mourdock, who is a Tea Party candidate. Maybe Mitt wants to do a poll to decide which side of the issue he’s on. Save the money, Mitt, you’re going to end up on both sides, and we already know it.

Washington Post:

“I struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realize life is that gift from God,” Mourdock said at a debate (posted below is the video from the state Democratic Party, which created the title of the video). “And I think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.”

Looks like God wants you to lose.

Oh, and he’s a Romney-endorsed candidate.  Mitt had this to say about Mourdock: “This is a man I want to see in Washington.”  Really, Mitt?

Mourdock went on to “explain” his answers later, and his explanation was just as bad:
