White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer lied to the American people this past weekend on national TV during his first press conference for the Trump White House.
Trump is apparently incensed that turnout at his inaugural was a bust. Far more people attended Obama's, which made Trump furious. He ordered Spicer to berate the press, and lie about the turnout, when everyone knows Trump simply couldn't get the numbers up. (See below: Obama 2009 left, Trump 2017 right -- there's no comparison.) And Spicer did lie. A lot.
As Sean Spicer himself noted just a few weeks ago: There is one rule the press secretary always must follow, never lie.
Yet Spicer lied. And now he must resign.
