Trump White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders today invoked the Bible to defend the Trump administration policy of putting children of immigrants in prison camps.
CNN’s Jim Acosta had asked Huckabee about a report that Attorney General Jeff Sessions had claimed earlier today that there was a justification for this policy in the Bible.
Huckabee pretended to not know what Acosta was talking about, then she reiterated the claim that the Bible somehow justified the administration’s abhorrent imprisonment of thousands of immigrant children in prison camps.
When Acosta asked Huckabee how she could invoke the Bible, she got snippy, then another reporter called her out (you can just hear in the background another reporter telling her it was a “cheap shot”).
