A “Muslim-free” gun shop in Florida is raffling a Confederate flag painted by George Zimmerman

If you had “Muslim-free,” “George Zimmerman,” “Confederate flag” and “Florida” on your Racist Bingo cards, congratulations. You’ve won. Please step up to the table to claim your prize, which definitely isn’t this Confederate flag painted by George Zimmerman:

Florida Gun Supply announced yesterday that they are selling signed prints of the painting for 50 bucks a pop. One lucky buyer will receive the original, produced by the the man whose name has become synonymous with killing unarmed black teenagers. One portion of the proceeds from the raffle will go to Zimmerman, and another will go to Andy Hallinan, who owns Florida Gun Supply, in order to pay for Hallinan’s defense in a federal discrimination lawsuit, filed by the Council on American-Islamic Relations, over the store’s declaration of itself as a “Muslim-free zone” following the recent shooting in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Given how gun stores, along with all other places of public accommodation, aren’t allowed to discriminate on the basis of religion — even if they declare themselves to be “private clubs” — their legal defense will be futile. But it will definitely be well funded.

After all, this is a masterful work of fundraising. The 2nd Amendment reference overlaid on a Confederate flag, coming from a man who embodies all of the worst outcomes of gun violence and racism, is memetically engineered to reach peak conservative. The painting is likely going to garner quite a bit of cash for the pair, as Zimmerman’s last painting — a particularly lazy reference to the Pledge of Allegiance overlaid on a waving American flag — sold on eBay for over $100,000. They only need to sell 2,000 prints to match that total.

And in case you’re wondering whether Zimmerman bothered to try making the claim that his painting isn’t about racism, but is instead about heritage, don’t worry. It’s definitely a thousand percent about racism. As he told Hallinan, quoted by Gawker:

“The caption, ‘the 2nd protects the first’ [sic] is a double entendre,” Zimmerman told the gun seller. “The first flag I painted on this canvas was an American Flag, but decided to repaint over it with the Confederate Flag when I heard Andy was getting sued by CAIR. The 2nd flag I painted was the Battle Flag – which we need in America in order to protect the first.”

In other words, when Zimmerman paints, “The 2nd Protects the 1st,” he means both that the Second Amendment is essential for protecting the First Amendment, but also that the second flag — the Confederate flag — is essential for protecting the first, American flag. From the Ay-rabs.

Stay classy, Florida Men.

Funny trivia: The Constitution of the Confederacy very closely resembles that of the U.S. Constitution, after which it was modeled and often directly copied. The main differences, of course, were to further codify and regulate the existing institution of slavery (for example, they were big on BOTH guaranteeing that slaves would never be freed or seized by the government, but also in basically making the importation of new slaves possible to be outlawed) and to weaken the power of the central government.

One thing they did was to take the Bill of Rights and mostly incorporate them wholesale into their Confederate Constitution. However, they did make one notable punctuation change with the text of what had been the 2nd Amendment (Article I, Section 9, 13th clause in the CSA doc): “A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

What they did was remove the commas after ‘militia’ and ‘arms’. More than a few constitutional scholars have opined that the result was an intention to limit the right to bear arms to those actually in official militias.

But yeah… it is ironic Zimmerdouche quotes two of the Bill of Rights on a battle flag associated with racism, secession, and treason against the United States of America.

I find the confluence of the “rebel” mindset, claiming victimhood, and the defense of Constitutional rights to be rather puzzling, to say the least.

On the one hand, they fly the Confederate battle flag all the while claiming it to be non-racist. On the other hand, they call for civil rights to be defended – as long as it’s their civil rights we’re talking about, of course. They feel that the best way to defend those rights are to… leave the country? Shoot it up? Turn back time so that we can have “happy, singing slaves” on plantations? Sorry boys, we’re way past that. What do they want that is impossible for us to give them?

This is by no means anything approaching a clear line of thought. Zimmerman’s laughably atrocious attempt at art will no doubt grace the garage walls of many of Florida redneck. Too bad for them that they are a dying breed who will be relegated to the dustbin of history. That day can’t come fast enough.

And I also think that Mr. Zimmerman does not know what the phrase “Double Entendre” means. But, we can take that up another day.

then sold it to the United States where it remains an appendage.

Pretty soon, it will go from being an appendage to being a reef. All the underwater ruins of elderly complexes, trailer parks, and abandoned theme parks will make great diving though.

Did you know there were 14 colonies at the Constitutional Congress in 1776? Florida vote no.

The rationale was that Florida’s economic interest and trading policies were focused in the Caribbean trading rather than Atlantic trading. After the Revolution, England ungratefully sold the peninsula to the Spanish who held it until the price was right, then sold it to the United States where it remains an appendage. The part about Florida’s economic interest and trading policies remains more or less factual. They say that today the largest share of Latin American banking filters through Miami.

Why didn’t the Obama regime prosecute this pig when they had the chance?

Probably for the same reason they won’t prosecute the hundreds of killer cops who take lives every year. It wouldn’t be popular in some circles.
