Please support AMERICAblog this holiday

If you like our 10+ years of progressive activism, and hard-hitting reporting, then please support our work.

Unfortunately, the blog no longer fully pays the bills (it no longer even pays my mortgage), so I’ve started part-time consulting again, in order to bring in extra income. But I’m committed to keeping AMERICAblog afloat, have been recruiting new writers, and would appreciate your help.

This year’s donations will go towards helping me finally buy a new laptop computer. My current one is over 6 years old (I do try to be frugal). I’ve done all I can to keep it going, and it’s been going pretty well since late 2008 — I’ve upgraded the hard drive to the limit, maxed out the ram, and refused to upgrade the operating system for two+ years (so it doesn’t slow down any further). But the old boy is finally nearing the end of his useful life as a reliable work computer. So that is what I will do with your donations this holiday season.

As always, thank you so much for your continued support. May you all have a wonderful holiday, and a very happy and prosperous new year.

John, Sasha and the Gang.

John, I have enjoyed America Blog for 2 or 3 years now. I hesitate to send any funding because of the lack of actual news and investigation lately. Not just because of the holiday season but I have noticed the trend over some time now. I won’t hold against you your ignorance about the phrase “Beyond the Pale.” It is deeply insulting to many Irish but there is a lot of it around and it is nowhere near as insulting as the beverage called a “Black and Tan”. My mother and many relatives went through the days of the black and tans. After all this time I kind of consider you as a friend I meet fairly often and for that….thank you. If I didn’t see this trend of “no news” I would gladly donate to America Blog.

OMGoodness, can I say that there is not a Christmas that goes by that I
don’t reminisce your festive poochie photos. Was looking to see if I
still had and email (didn’t) to drop you a line, came to Americablog and what do I see at the top of the screen? *MUAH*!

    Nine
years for me since I discovered Americablog, shortly after Katrina.
Many thanks for being you and continuing to do all you do. Happiest of
    Holidays, John!

    ~Namaste

So no snow, but a really nice couple days. Maybe something better than a white Christmas.

  • And to you, Andy! So are we getting snow or something? I need to check the weather, there’s a storm warning or something for tomorrow.

Ha! I beat you to the punch about a week ago. It’s not as much as it should be, but it’s what a graduate student can contribute.
