Brain-dead teen, only capable of rolling eyes and texting, to be euthanized

“The Taggart family of Cedarville, Oregon set off a firestorm of controversy after petitioning the state for the right to end the life of their 13-year-old brain-dead daughter….

“At the age of 12 Caitlin slipped into a persistent vegetative state confining her almost entirely to Facebook.”

“We just keep reminding ourselves that the real Caitlin is gone. It’s just her body texting.”

This is absolutely hysterical, from the Onion:

It’s usually the “terrible-two’s” that get the blame, though most people know it can go longer than that. ;-)

Thank goodness this is still not a theocracy. We have to watch out for the Ted Cruses who come to Washington DC with an anti-gay agenda and when you dig a little further you find out his own religion is the fundamentalist Dominion sect that believes gays should be rounded up and put to death! Cruz has already been deriding gays ever since he came to office and has recently put an anti-gay marriage bill on the floor in the senate to be considered. This man is extremely dangerous of us if he ever can gain more power.

His religion also wants to change our Constitution from a democratic-republic to a theocracy like Iran has. Though Cruz plays down his role with his church, he is an active member of it and his father is a minister in it as well.

ATT. JOHN A > Off this subject check out Huffpost Gay Voices article: “Preacher Michael Wilson Calls For Constitutional Amendment That Would Imprison Gays.” He wants Gays to be given 10 years in prison sentences at hard labor. He wants Congress to pass Amendment ASAP to imprison Gays.

Could he be related to bad-cop Darren Wilson in Ferguson MO? Both are bigots so related that way
as crazed lunatics. Far-right nuts in US are as bad or worse than homophobes in Putin’s Russia.

You know, John, I don’t know where I learn most of my stuff, but it occurred to me that maybe I first learned it here at AmericaBlog. So I did a search. I found that you often report of Bear Stearns, not surprising. And Polar Bears, who wouldn’t these days. But not so often on bears at a bar, okay, whatever. Maybe one grizzly bear, up to two grizzlies at most. Probably more “bare results” than “bear results”, meh. But you really were the one that first broke this story about the rogue bear:

    Thanks for keeping me honest!

“And then she tied me to the wall and stuck a funnel in my mouth
And force fed me nothing but sauerkraut until I was twenty six and a half years old.”

My sister used to joke about duct-taping hers to their bedroom walls, and when they were finally strong enough to break themselves free, they’d be big enough to be out on their own.

She made it clear for the sake of any Child Protective Services personnel who might be eavesdropping that she was only joking. And then she’d lean in and, sotto voce whisper, “But I swear some days I wish I could. People say there aren’t monsters. There are — and they’re six and four years old.”

My husband and I thought it would have been nice to bury the kids at age 12 and dig them up at age 19. Our doctor and lawyer advised against it.

And has moved out of the parents’ home. My sister put up a sign on my nephew’s bedroom door that said “Check-Out Time is 18.”)

Where’s Tom Coburn and Bill Frist when you need them to make a diagnosis via edited video!

It can be dangerous to ask Siri to give directions. A friend of mine actually gets into arguments with her over the directions she gives.

I contend that a non-viable fetus can be terminated at any point in the development cycle. Reasonably speaking, a fetus isn’t viable until it’s graduated and held down a job for a year and a half.

I’m support assisted-suicide legislation but there some instances where there is no right answer, just a lot of “on the other hands”.

I guarantee some will treat this as a real story.

    Where is Jeb Bush, anyway?

The problem is that these days you can’t write satire. In many cases, it comes so close to the truth that people can’t tell the difference.

Today, for example, on Counterpunch, Binoy Kampmark, who was a Commonwealth Scholar at Selwyn College, Cambridge and who lectures at RMIT University, Melbourne, used Landover Baptist Church as a source, assuming that it was a real church. He was using it as an example of nutty statements Christians and other idiots have made about the No. Cal. earthquake.

    http://www.counterpunch.org/2014/08/25/earthquakes-gods-and-california/

Then came another response, one somewhat less sensibly oriented. It did not take long for a certain smugness to bubble to the surface after the early hours of Sunday – those in California were getting their just desserts, be it for their weighty liberalism, or their homosexual, reefer loving proclivities.

Where there is natural disaster, there will be unnatural speculation. Fox Nation readers were quick off the mark, with tweets hoping that the earthquake had taken the lives of “libnutjobs”. “We may be witnessing a mass reduction in the liberalnutjob population any minute!”[2]

A forum for the Landover Baptist Church, running one of the “Official True Christian Church Web Forums”, brimmed with joy. A story from Kron was posted noting 90 hospitalisations and three critically injured. “This story got me excited this morning. Further proof that God really does hate the homers. Look for more devastation in the coming days, months, years, decades and centuries, as the Lord sees fit.”[3]
