The time Shepard Smith talked about “The True Blood” (video)

I’d reported yesterday on the news from Gawker that Fox News’ Shepard Smith was allegedly demoted from his prime-time slot because Fox execs feared Smith would come out and acknowledge that he’s gay, and they didn’t think the network’s conservative audience would approve.

Well, a reader on Facebook pointed out this little clip from Shep’s greatest hits The time he lectured his panel about “V” and “The Truth Blood.”

I’d never seen this, it’s pretty hilarious.

They still can’t accept that Alexander was gay.

maybe eventually if the bigots see enough gay individuals that they respect before having a reason to hate them their attitude might change, never mind.

I’m guessing the conservative Fox News audience is still struggling with the idea that Liberace might have been gay.

The Mississippi there kind of messes with the Gay. But just being sort of skewed and offbeat given the circumstances which seems to be typical of Shep is sort of gay in itself.

I remember when I first started dating guys, I did this really unhealthy thing of comparing how gay we were. It was a misplaced sense of trying to prove my normalcy, so if they had a lisp or liked musicals, I would always think, “This guy is so much gayer than me.” It’s really counterproductive, and the fact that I have sex with dudes make me equally gay as all the rest. Still, when I watched this, all I could think was, “This guy is so much gayer than me.”
