Obama at White House Correspondents Dinner (video)

President Obama spoke last night at the White House Correspondents Dinner.

The president traditionally gives a self-deprecating speech lampooning himself, the media, and his political opponents in Washington.

Obama mentioned the health care Web site disaster, Donald Sterling, Cliven Bundy, and more. At one point he mentioned the Republican Party’s love affair with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and showed this:

“Rudy Giuliani said, ‘Putin is what you call a leader.’ Mike Huckabee and Sean Hannity keep talking about his bare chest, which is kind of weird.”

Now CBS wants the discredited story about Benghazi wiped off the record, is is because Lara Logan
conspired with Lindsay Graham on writing the story?

Joel McHale had a few good lines, as well:
    Lindsey Graham
He “played Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire”

    Cliven Bundy
“The steaks tonight are very tasty … [they’re from] Cliven Bundy’s ranch. They taste amazing, once you peel off the tiny white hoods.”

This thing needs to stop. Or at least, the real journalists need to stop going, so that they can really try to appear to be impartial. What a ridiculous farce.

I just love how the Press is always so buddy buddy with government officials. Have they ever asked critical questions?

This is why those groups are nothing at all like the “well regulated militia” that is mentioned in the Second Amendment. No matter what they want to call themselves, they’re just thugs whose guns give them a superiority complex, threatening a community that never wanted them there in the first place.

Funny comment there from the President about Cliven Bundy and his band(s) of armed thugs, who seem now to be threatening each other with violence and murder about as often as they’re threatening the same for law enforcement and federal employees… but unfortunately, the situation out there in Bunkerville NV is getting worse, not better.

I think we would all like to see just a bit more of the kick ass attitude Obama portrays so effectively at these events in his actual governing style. (Not like this point hasn’t been made a million times over the past six years.)

I thoroughly enjoyed that. He scored a lot of points.

Can someone explain the “Al Sharpton did it, too” meme?

Also, check out Vicki Strong, Republican from Vermont, her speech on the floor of the Vermont legislature about voting for a constitutional convention to get money out of politics. We all may disagree with her stances 99% of the time, but we all should thank her for her help with this.
