Honey Maid just did another pro-gay video – this one’s a doozy

Honey Maid, the graham cracker people, made a commercial recently that included modern families, including a gay couple, and an inter-racial family.

Well, they got a few hate-o-grams. But they also got even more nice emails of support.

So Honey Maid decided it was time to do a second video, reaffirming his commitment to diversity. This is it:

And here’s their earlier ad:

No but alligators are okay. I think crocodiles are however still on the banned to marry list. Of course, Obama’s fault, according to the illiterate (I heard about something he did I didn’t like but didn’t bother to research it myself) idiots.

Honey Maid stuck out for LOVE, it’s now part of my weekly shopping. Thx Honey Maid for making the bravest and strongest statement on equality a corporation has ever dared.

I usually buy the store brand to save money. This makes me want to spend the extra few cents and buy Honey Maid.

A perfect example of reasonable people overwhelming the loud small minority of haters. Absolutely love the artistic vision behind this! It doesn’t take courage for companies to stand up for love and family whatever gender, race or any other irrational delimiters may be involved – its just good business to stand with your Customers!

    Speed Blogger extraordinare!

  • slappymagoo

Either that or many of the haters refuse to send emails anymore because that’s how Obama tracks your every move in his neverending quest to take your guns and make you gay-marry your dog.

  • Indigo

    Definitely wholesome!

What a great mysterious Universe! Opened to here just after downing a couple of cinnamon (naturally
flavored) grahams! Sweet! John, is it ok to give this one a thumbs up?

News tonight. Can anyone tell me what the 716 on Major P.M.’s mom’s tee shirt stands for?

What is so great about this is only a few short years ago most companies would have been cowed by the haters. It’s great to see a corporation not only give the haters a big “F You!” but shove it in their faces. Great to see.

Almost, but not quite. Chasing down more links and finding some photos tends to be the more time-consuming part. I slammed out that comment in about 15 minutes total. ;-)

Whoever came up with this campaign, they’re not paying them enough. Genius.

In other news, Brendan Eich, the would-be CEO of Mozilla (the makers of Firefox) has resigned after just 11 days in the position.

    http://www.cnet.com/news/mozilla-ceo-eich-resigns-after-controversy/

Although most of the news stories were noting Eich’s 2008 $1000 donation for the pro-Prop 8 campaign (the one that banned same-sex marriage in California after it having been legal for months), others were beginning to notice that Eich has a rather self-revealing pattern of donating to far-right politicians as well.

According to FEC records, he’s given $2100 to CA-4′s rabidly anti-gay (and anti-everything progressive) GOP Rep. Tom McClintock, between 2008 and 2010. GOPer Linda Smith, another Eich campaign donation recipient, said “homosexuality is a morally unfit inclination.”

Eich also donated to Ron Paul in ’96 and ’98 ($2500), according to another story in the Guardian. And $1000 to Pat Buchanan in ’91 and ’92.

In 1990, a year before Eich’s first donation to his campaign, Buchanan
said in relation to the (AIDs) outbreak that “our promiscuous homosexuals
appear literally hell-bent on Satanism and suicide”. A a few years
earlier he said “homosexuals have declared war on nature, and now nature
    is exacting an awful retribution”.

When asked by the Guardian for a response or to clarify whether or not he still agreed with Buchanan’s positions on homosexuality, Eich declined to answer.

And as for Ron Paul… well, he’s long been dogged by accusations of espousing both racist and homophobic views, particularly in the newsletter that bore his name.

I stand by my observation and considered opinion that people don’t donate to the campaigns of politicians whose views they don’t agree with. And Eich sure does seem to have a predilection for the gay-haters.

    Beautiful!

There will always be haters, but our side is winning (at least here in the US/Canada).

  • keirmeister

Awesome way to stand firm. I always say our side wins when we don’t apologize, but instead hit back even harder.

On the funnier opposite side of the “family” spectrum, I always loved this commercial:

It says everything how only 10% of their responses were from haters, bigots, and xenophobes… gives me hope.

  • Silver_Witch

    S’more Honey Grahams Please…

John – you forgot the Trigger Alert – this one will totally make you get teary eyed…NOT me of course, I have allergies and that is why I looked like I was crying – which I of course was not.
