Chelsea Clinton is pregnant

Chelsea Clinton just announced that she’s pregnant.

“Marc and I are very excited that we have our first child arriving later this year,” she said, according to Amy Chozick of the New York Times (via Twitter).

“I just hope that I will be a good mom to my child and hopefully children as my mom was to me,” she added, according to Phil Rucker, also via Twitter.

Chelsea married investment banker  Marc Mezvinsky in 2010.

Just the other day, Chelsea was reported as saying she wouldn’t rule out a political run in the future:

“I live in a city and a state and a country where I support my elected representatives. If at some point that weren’t the case, and I didn’t support my mayor or my city councilwoman or my congresswoman or either of my senators — and I’m lucky to live in a state where I have lots of women representing me, you know — maybe then I’d have to ask and answer the question for myself, and come to a different answer.”
