Russian neo-Nazi leader Maxim Martsinkevich continues to organize and execute his nationwide spree of homophobic, anti-semitic and racist kidnappings from prison, with the help of Russian social media giant VKontakte (aka VK.com).
Just yesterday, Martsinkevich posted a help-wanted request on VK.com, seeking coconspirators to conduct more kidnappings of minorities in Russia. (Martsinkevich’s organization, called Occupy Pedophilia, claims to have conducted nearly 1,500 abductions in the past 18 months.)
VK.com, founded by Russian social media mogul Pavel Durov, and now-controlled by friend-of-Putin billionaire-oligarch Alisher Usmanov, is the platform favored by Russian neo-Nazis when planning and publicizing the nearly 1,500 abductions they claim to have committed in just the past two years.
Neither Putin-friendly VK.com, nor Putin himself, seem to have much interest in taking on the Nazis in their midst. Which is ironic, since the Russian government has used the “Nazis are coming” leitmotif to describe the unrest in Ukraine, and to justify Moscow’s invasion and occupation of Crimea, for a while now:
The conflict in Ukraine can be difficult to sort out, but on the most recent edition of “Vesti Nedeli,” Russia’s most popular evening news program, a sober-voiced announcer broke it down into very simple terms. “Experts,” he intoned, “are more and more comparing the actions of these nationalists with those who came to power in Germany in the 1930s.”
I wrote in depth about Putin’s tacit consent for Russia’s neo-Nazi crime wave the other day, so I won’t rehash all of it here. But in a nutshell, concommitant with the country’s overall crackdown on dissent, and in particular its recent draconian legislative attacks on gay and trans Russians, far-right Hitler-loving extremists began to organize, and coordinate their actions, nationwide, forming a new organization called “Occupy Pedophilia.”
Occupy Pedophilia’s mission is to find young gays online, some as young as 13 years of age, and lure them to a “date” (the underage ones, if they are unsure about meeting, are often offered large sums of money for sex) where they are confronted by up to a dozen young men who detain them, beat them, force them to confess their “sins” on camera, strip them down, shave their heads in reverse-mohawks, paint rainbow flags on their scalp, draw Stars of David on their chest if the victim is thought to be Jewish, force feed them urine to cure them of their homosexuality, and more.
The video and photos of the entire abduction and torture are then posted on VK.com, which generally refuses to take the evidence of the crime down unless the victim comes forward, which is unlikely after undergoing such torture in a country so supremely homophobic. Again, keep in mind, some of the victims are only 13 years of age. The victim below, for example, was 15.
Buy it’s even worse than that. Not only does VK.com refuse to enforce its own terms of service regarding the publication of what practically amounts to “gay snuff-films,” aka violence porn, but VK.com even refuses to stop the neo-Nazi kidnapping gangs from using its service to organize and commit their crimes.
For example, for two months now, Occupy Pedophilia’s St. Petersburg branch (the organization has 30 branches, most of which have their own organization platform on VK.com) has had a classified-ad of sorts up on VK.com seeking an apartment in which to conduct its kidnappings of young gays, which they call “safaris” since they are “hunting” gays. The ad, which also includes a solicitation for anyone willing to serve as “bait” to entrap young gays, remains live to this day (translation via Google):
As documented in my earlier, longer, story, this is not the only help-wanted request that the neo-Nazis have posted on VK.com with impunity.
But things got even more interesting yesterday. The head of the nationwide neo-Nazi criminal conspiracy, Maxim Martsinkevich, who is currently under arrest pending prosecution for an unrelated crime (the Russians refuse to prosecute any of the members of Occupy Pedophilia for any of their 1,500 abductions), himself post a help-wanted on VK.com, asking for assistance in committing even more kidnappings of gays, Jews and blacks in the country. Martsinkevich, who has been using VK.com to organize his criminal conspiracy for a while now, has nearly 140,000 “followers” on the site.
Here’s Martsinkevich’s latest request for help, posted on VK.com yesterday. Note that it includes a video of one of his organization’s abductions.
In his VK.com help-wanted post, Martsinkevich references Katerina Zigunova (aka Katrina Logunova), his ideological “daughter,” and one of his top lieutenants, like the rest of the 30-branch strong Occupy Pedophilia crew, remains at large, unhindered by Russian law enforcement that clearly knows who they are, and clearly does not care.
Here is Zigunova/Logunova, in a Nazi homage she posted on VK.com (pro-Nazi posts are also against VK.com’s terms of service, yet the social media site is full of them):
If Vladimir Putin truly cared about Nazis, he’d have closed down Occupy Pedophilia 18 months ago, and he’d have arrested every one of its members. But instead, even from prison, Occupy Pedophilia’s leader continues to use the company of Vladimir Putin’s close ally, Alisher Usmanov, to plan even more neo-Nazi kidnappings of young Russian gays.
Interestingly, Bloomberg reports today that the Russians have ordered VK.com to shut down a number of its profiles used by Ukrainian nationalists. Yet still no word from the Russian government about the actual Nazis that have been using VK.com to plan and commit nearly 1,500 kidnappings for over a year:
On March 3, Roskomnadzor, Russia’s telecommunications watchdog, ordered social-networking site VKontakte to block access to the online communities of 13 Ukrainian nationalist organizations. The agency said the Ukrainian groups had called on Russians to participate in terrorist activities and illegal gatherings. VKontakte complied with the order in Russia, but the groups can still be accessed by users in Ukraine, according to the St. Petersburg-based social network.
So in a very real way, some of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s best oligarchs are Nazi-enablers, as is Putin himself. Keep that in mind the next time you hear the Russians shed some crocodile tears about the “Nazis” they’re fighting in Ukraine.
