Lindsey Graham celebrates Duck Dynasty’s flag desecration before State of the Union

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and GOP Congressman Thomas Massie celebrated the descration of the American flag today, only hours before President Obama’s annual State of the Union address.

Massie had a photo taken with Willie Robertson of the television show Duck Dynasty, which has recently been in the news as one of its stars is a raging homophobe.

Robertson will be attending the State of the Union address tonight as the guest of Louisiana (who else?) GOP Cong. Vance McAllister.  Robertson thought it would be a good idea to dress like a slob, wearing a wrinkled dress shirt pulled out of his pants and a bandana of the American flag, which technically should count as flag desecration.

Think I’m kidding? It also appears to be a clear violation of federal law – heck, the law even mentions handkerchiefs specifically.

Title 4 United States Code

§ 8. Respect for Flag

(i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown.

Imagine if a Democrat had done this before George Bush’s State of the Union.

And guess who else helped Duck Dynasty desecrate the flag tonight?
