Introducing “Amazon Rocket” – delivery in 5 minutes or less (video)

Yesterday we posted a real video about Amazon’s new proposal to use unmanned drones to deliver packages to customers in 30 minutes or less.

Today we have a video created by Zach King, introducing Amazon Rockets, to deliver packages in 5 minutes or less.

As you can imagine, the rocket proposal has a few kinks…

I could actually see drone deliveries working in places where gridlock prevented trucks from easily delivering packages (or a large “mother ship” truck sending out drones to drop off packages to nearby houses).

The real problem is a Catch-22 issue: the drone concept only works in crowded urban environments… where one can’t leave packages on the doorstep for very long without risking them being stolen.

Pizzas, and tacos, maybe- if the DinnerDrones home in on your cell phone and deliver it into your hands. Expensive products? Not until the problem of secure delivery can be solved.

Finally enough cocktail meatballs to decently fill an hors d’ouerves tray.

    Rule 34.

Not to mention what having one would do to your grocery bill. What do you get when you feed a tribble?

  • pappyvet

“Master Series Four Stage 14.5 Inch Rocket Dildo”…..well OK but lighting it would be uncomfortable. ;]

As George Takei would say, “Oh my!”

It does put new light on my post back on the drone thread, when you search Amazon, the first thing that comes up is something called a “Master Series Four Stage 14.5 Inch Rocket Dildo”.

Defurring them is a total pain and the edible remaining portion of a single tribble is less than than an average sized Swedish meatball.

Plus, unlike nearly everything else in the Alpha quadrant, they don’t taste like chicken at all. And not in a good way.

    Tribbles for Christmas?

“Scotty, we need more power to the shields. More power to the shields.”
    “I can’t do it, Captain.”

    Brilliant!

Hilarious. As was the Amazon drone thing, which is completely stupid no matter how much Charlie Rose respectfully nods and believes anyone who can afford to go to 21 for dinner every night. The drone thing was nothing more than a clever way to plant the Amazon name in people’s brains just at the beginning of Christmas shopping.

    Now that was funny!

I find myself thinking of the pet cemetery’s space program from the movie The Loved One.

Well, back to the old drawing board… or maybe the Tardy Cannon that Martin Short introduced in that SCTV skit.

    Poor cat.
