Bohemian Rhapsody, the amazing Quantum Mechanics version, one guy sings all parts (video)

Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody sung by one guy, doing all the parts, and the song is rewritten to be about quantum mechanics and string theory.

It’s simply brilliant. And rather beautiful to boot.

NPR has more on the guy who did this: 23 year old Canadian, Tim Blais.

I was wondering if Brian May had any input into this since he is an astrophysicist himself.

    Mamma mia, that’s-a spicy rendition-a!

Loved that video… I loved the one below too… One guy signing all the parts as well…

Especially since Brian May has a Ph.D. in astrophysics. He was working on his Ph.D. but abandoned it when Queen became so successful. He resumed his work and received his Ph.D. in October 2007, 30 years after he first began that quest. He served as Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University from November 2007 until 2013.

Tim is brilliant and his Master Thesis isn’t bad either, but what I especially like about the format, is that it really is the correct way to communicate String theory, after all it is more art than science:

Well, that is certainly a vote of confidence.

  • As both a musician and a physicist, I think this is awesome! Way to go Tim!!!

Brian May liked it because he put it on his blog (18 Sep 13):

I really wanted to dislike this, because I don’t care for people messing with Freddie’s music. Couldn’t do that. I liked it. In fact, I am amazed at that the guy. He looks like my son, and that really helped me to like it.

  • Yep, I have that one open to check out later

In his first video he took on the Higgs boson. Now he’s teaching quantum gravity.

    I am in love!

  • LOVE It!

  • Oh man, wow, that was amazing.
