Cat tongues vacuum, enjoys it (video)

I’m a bit surprised by this one, but a cat seems to be very much enjoying the pressure of a vacuum sucking on its tongue.

Then again, it’s one of those Japanese cats…

I love when you and I are on the same side of a fight :)

    I’ll have to try that.

One of the most disconcerting cultural adjustments foreigners in Japan learn to accommodate is the reading of (shunga) Hentai manga by hundreds of business men on the crowded commute trains.

We don’t post much substance on the weekends, we never have – it’s our weekly respite. Odd that you don’t know that, since your’e say you’re a regular reader.

Chris has a new job that’s taking most of his time, he now only writes food posts on weekend mornings, but isn’t right now since he’s on vacation. And Gaius only writes one post at 10am each day, mostly during the week. So 98% of the posts are mine. And I figured that working 14 hour days during the week, which I do, writing this blog, I probably should take the weekends off (at least off from doing serious stories), as I’m going to burn out if I work 98-hour-work-weeks. So I don’t.

Oh and there’s also that little thing about my dad being on death’s door in a hospital, while I parent my 16 year old nephew (who they have custody of), that’s also taking up a wee bit of time these past two weeks. Nonetheless we’ve had some pretty darn good coverage of the Russia situation especially this week, so I don’t think honestly feel that I need to apologize for our content – we’ve had our best traffic in years this past week.

So, I’m sorry if you feel that cats so offend you that you simply must flee, but you’re not going to get substantive weekend coverage on this blog – we never have offered it – not have most other blogs.

Oh, and finally, it’s established that if you give people only serious content 24 hours a day, they burn out and leave. That’s a big part of the reason a lot of us post fun stuff evenings and weekends. You can only hate so many hours a day. Well, most of us, that is. :)

I’ve always felt certain that cats hallucinate. They’ll spend hours watching a nonexistent bug on a wall. They’ll practically twist their head off while watching a fictional bird fly around the room. That cat is just busy staring at a two headed Peruvian chipmunk.

Really, dude, you need to lighten up. John works a lot of hours every day on this blog, for not a lot of money. Every now and again, he gets a day off. So do Chris and Gaius, who actually do have other jobs and lives outside of AmericaBlog. I’m grateful for his work, and actually wish he would take more time off. And, as he has posted publicly here, his dad is quite ill and he is in Chicago dealing with family stuff. Lighten up and cut the man some slack.

  • dula

Why not? Somebody could write a “movement” for it.

You have a poor imagination. And also a short attention span, if seems, if you can’t go a day without demanding fresh baubles to distract you.

Oh, well, indeed. You certainly won’t be missed.
Some of us actually like the occasional pet videos, etc. And, BTW, Chris in Paris and Gaius Publius still write stories.
Go ahead and find a blog that makes you happier, or start your own blog, if you think you can do a better job.
Bye-bye. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.

And you are actually making a living off this, John?

Cripes I cannot imagine a less informative blog than this. Nothing new. Few things original.

Hell, what happened to Chris in Paris and Gaius Publius? At least they kept my interest.

One cat video for twelve hours kind of sucks.

(You are about to lose a reader. Oh well.)

    I love cats….

Oh, yes, of course it’s an orange kitty.
The orange tabbies have the most engaging personalities and weird little ways.

  • Mike_in_the_Tundra

Love these strange cat videos. They make my cat seem rather sane.
