Jon Stewart on Rumsfeld, Cheney having the balls to criticize Benghazi

A great Jon Stewart episode, taking on former Bush Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, and VP Dick Cheney, for having the nerve to criticize President Obama for his handling of Benghazi. Especially since Rummy and Cheney are most concerned about the administration supposedly using deception to manipulate Middle East policy.

Cheney: “They lied.”

Stewart: “You do not get to use the L-word.”

Sadly true. The Democrats never seem to tire of being wingnut punching bags. Cash is king.

  • Stewart is dead-on, as usual. Sadly though, these 2, and all the other GOP vermin who never once permitted investigations into the WMD lie, do not have any credibility for calling for investigations here.

How many died, because we were lied into a war that never should have been? How many lives remain destroyed?

And how many investigations, or calls for an investigation have occurred?

    Case closed.

When these partisan jackals speak, I change the channel. My only quibble with Jon Stewart is that he should have nailed the whole lot of them.

Well it made him a multi-millionaire, increased his blowjobs per week and allowed him to dine with world leaders. Not bad for a guy who sold us all too China.

they have all of us to blame. It works for the economic collapse, it was because the elderly and poor want to many freebies. It is working in going after cuts in SS so the rich can be left out of paying a fraction more. O continues to apologize to the right for some perceived wrong so that we all feel sorry for them. He kept a lot of Bush appointees and then hired wall street hacks and banking failures and passed them off as experts. He is more war prone than even Chimpy was Iraq and Afghanistan are chugging along sucking billions out of our economy and into the pockets of the 1%. Unemployment isn’t even a foot note in discussions. The big crisis, the phone records of AP, fuck they have been listening to everyone’s conversations for years and we now are made to feel sorry because some pseudo-journalists had their phone records looked at. No one complained when Murdoch’s crew of miscreants hacked into private messages and calls. Yet no one in this country even investigated what went on here and in the UK no one went to jail. The list is endless but my pudgy fingers are tired and in addition no one gives a shit. Just another pointless rant from the elderly and poor. Turn the page.

  • …and are proven correct in this presumption over and over again.

    “. These idiots never learn.”

Oh they learn alright – just not the lessons *we* want them to learn. In fact, they don’t even care or try to learn those. They just learn how to get into and stay in the billionaire’s club for the rest of their lives, the 99.9 percenters be damned.

George Orwell saw this state of “perpetual war” in 1949 (the year Nineteen Eighty-Four) was published) and before.

  • Yeah… it’s what I meant when I said yesterday how it seems clear now that the nearly unlimited warmongering and security-state powers now arrogated to the Executive are something neither party ever plans to give up.

They’re now talking about making the post-9/11 AUMF, Patriot Act, and Defense authorization measures effectively permanent.

Bill Clinton went all Forward Looking too and look what that got him. These idiots never learn. Corporate tools, all of them.

If President Forward Looking had kept his oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, as well as honor international law, any interviews they’d be giving would be from prison.

  • Yep.

  • The saddest thing of all is the fact major news networks continue to give these war criminals the chance to repeat their lies, unrefuted and unchallenged except by bloggers like John Aravosis and basic cable comics like Stewart and Colbert.
