“You’re gonna be a grandma!” (bis)

I really enjoy these “happy” videos sometimes.  Last night, I posted one of a woman finding out she was going to be a grandma, and just absolutely shrieking.

Tonight’s video, sent by a reader who filmed it himself, is less shriek-y, but still just as fun. These remind me a lot of those videos showing the troops coming home and surprising spouses, kids, dogs, etc. I just love em. Enjoy :)

The troops thingy is a bit more complicated. Sure, our shared humanity, tears and all that. But it kind of makes you wonder about the person, usually a man, who would abandon their child to pick up a gun.
Now give the benefit of the doubt and believe some, let’s even say most, believe their tee-vee and politicians that they will be fighting a just war, and aren’t just going over to get them some sand n*ggah careerism.
How long does it take being over there to realize it is a big grift and not a just war? How long does it take to realize that they are killing innocents, men, women, adolescents, and children just like their own as a matter of policy everyday? How long does it take to realize they are complicit with torture and war crimes just like the bad guys in old time movies?
They are all given the stern talks about us against them, over here not back at the homeland, this band of brothers, not war crimes, and if war crimes then shhhh, lest pesky prosecutions.
But when will they tell their sons and daughters? What will they tell their sons and daughters?
    The truth?
    Ever?
Hopefully, at the very least they should tell them, if ever the drums ever beat for war again, and they will beat for war again, think thrice.
At the very least think thrice before you go.

It’s always a bit unnerving how hectoring a grandparent can be when it’s only one quarter of their genes that will show up in any one grand kid. But so it goes.

Oh sorry, missed the part where an equivalence was drawn between the selfish wheeee my genes are being reproduced with the unassailable support the troops homecoming videos.

“…eating for two now”. SLAM! Shreeeeeek!

LOL! Sweet. This is what being human means, amongst others: the simple joy of hearing about the new human on the way.

And yeah, nice house. Looks like one of those vaca houses in CO.
