Young Steven-Seagal-type beats the cr*p out of robber (video)

As a victim of a rather violent mugging – the kids tried to strangle me, without even going for my wallet – this made me smile, a lot. It’s like something out of Hollywood.

Here’s the video, then below the background from the cops – they’re looking for helping catching the perps. Check out that video, then read what else the victim did. I laughed out loud.  It appears this happened in New Orleans just three days ago.

New-Orleans-robbery-

I have to share just a small bit of the cops’ description of what happened – you can find the rest below:

The subject pointed a shotgun at the victim’s face and stated give me your money. The victim disarmed the gunman and then chased him. Moments later the victim was approached by two black males in a black four door sedan (possibly a Honda Accord). The driver of the vehicle said to the victim “give me my gun back and I’ll give you your phone that you dropped”. The victim then used the shotgun to strike the rear windshield of the vehicle causing it to break. The two subjects then fled…

Yeah, you’d think they’d have learned the first time they dealt with the guy.  Apparently not.

On Saturday, 4/27/13 at or about 5:05AM, the victim was walking in the 1900 block of Burgundy when he was approached by an unknown black male. The two subjects then fled on Frenchmen to St. Claude and then unknown. The gunman was described as a black male, approximately 16-20 years of age, 6’00″ tall with a thin build wearing a black hat and a black t-shirt. Surveillance video captured the robbery on video/audio and can be viewed on youtube.com at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kagO9D… . A similar incident occurred on Friday, April 26, 2013, at or about 12:30am in the 800 block of Touro Street, right around the corner from the aforementioned robbery. In that incident the victim was walking in the 800 block of Touro when he was approached by two unknown young black males. One of the subjects pointed a shotgun at the victim and demanded his property. The subjects then struck the victim three times. The victim fled the scene without relinquishing his property. The victim sustained minor injuries. The victim described the gunman as a young black males and being approximately 5’8″ -5’10″ tall with a dark complexion and medium build wearing dark clothing. The victim described the second subject as being a young black male, approximately 5’6″ tall with a medium build, bushy hair and wearing a light shirt. Both subjects were said to be in their early twenties. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Det. Michael Flores at (504)658-6707/[email protected] and/or CrimeStoppers at (504)822-1111.

Just saw the movie after renting it from RedBox with my boyfriend. I thought it was alright but he really loved it!

  • Eric

Someone tell the kid in this video!

  • Eric

They’re doing a “Are you as tough as Seagal?” fan competition on the movie Facebook page for the release of Deadly Crossing!

  • JamesWilson

I heard this from a friend too! Cant wait to see him back in action!

  • Daniel

If you went straight for the disarm and wrist snap…you may be steven seagal.

  • Daniel

Hahaha really?! more wrist breaking action!

  • DJW

THIS is what happens right after you’ve seen a seagal flick!

  • Kingofkings

Yeah! May 14 at Redbox. So excited!

  • Westlee

This kid is awesome! But wait… there’s another Seagal movie coming out!? When? Where?

  • SeagalLovin

Yep. Can’t wait to see Segal pull these moves in Deadly Crossing! I can’t believe it comes out in less than a week. There’s something so entertaining about watching broken wrists.

This kid is probably knows what I’m talking about!

  • Colin K

Lol. Wish it was. This kid should be in Seagal’s next movie. He’d make a great sidekick!

  • Jonas Wright

Aw man, at first I thought it was actually Steven Seagal!

The 16-yr-old suspect, accompanied by his attorney, turned himself in to NOPD today. This part is good: the owner of the car — a relative of the suspect — filed a police report claiming vandalism of the car’s rear windshield. The police couldn’t help but notice that the car matched the description of the car driven by the suspect they were looking for.

In the meantime, the victims of two other armed robberies in the same neighborhood, Faubourg Marigny, called police to say that the suspect in the video is the same guy who robbed them in other armed robberies reported within the past week. Apparently this is one of the dumbest 16-yr-olds to ever attempt a life of crime. He has now been charged with two armed robberies and one attempted armed robbery.

boy that looked awful easy, just thinkin.

  • freewayblogger

Don’t underestimate the power of impetus. The guy with the gun right in his face is way more motivated to change things up than the would-be shooter. I had a guy pull a knife on me once in San Francisco and I damn near killed him – poor fucker didn’t stand a chance.

  • Ninong

She must be a high-priced hooker.

  • dula

Lol I’m sure their burlap got in the way.

I remember after the kids attacked me and tried to strangle me, I actually ran after them. What I would do to two teenage guys if I caught them, I have no idea – it was just, as you said, instinct.

  • nicho

That was on the street. The sale scuffle was a mattress sale at a Sears Warehouse sale, where I had to do battle with a mother-daughter team that I swear were from the East German women’s shot put squad. I won.

  • George Melby

OMG!!! What a pussy of a robber! I’m surprised he didn’t trip over his own diaper! Good on the victim!!!

  • dula

That must have been some sale.

  • Drew2u

It was hit up, and out of the grip of the forward hand, bending the robber’s wrist in a direction to let go of the gun, possession of the barrel meant the ‘victim’ was able to get control of a good portion of the gun as well as being out of range of any firing.

  • FatRat

Noticed that too. Blanks don’t hurt or Clark Kent can’t stand up to the wooden handles of revolvers. lol

  • FatRat

    Glad you weren’t hurt.

  • nicho

It’s called the element of surprise. That wasn’t the reaction the robber was expecting. You’re right. The gun probably wasn’t loaded — and the would-be robbers pants probably were by the time he got back to his car.

  • nicho

Those weren’t aikido moves. Those were more the moves of someone who’s been in a few street tussles himself.

  • nicho

Everyone knows that, but sometimes reflex kicks in. I once started struggling with a guy over a pair of cheap sunglasses. Fortunately, I came to my senses and let him have them.

  • nicho

Did you ever notice that Superman stands there and lets the bullets bounce off him? However, when the bad guys run out of ammo, they throw their guns at him — and he ducks. What’s that all about?

  • FatRat

Too risky, even if you have martial arts training. Only two things faster than a speeding bullet: 1 Superman http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bp6HCzW7AFo and 2 Mark Sanford running away from questions about his extramarital Argentina affair. http://tinyurl.com/cdv2kqn

  • GeorgeMokray

Not a formal aikido technique but a simple block that turned into a successful grab for the gun. Truth is, you don’t need much technique on the street, just awareness and, believe it or not, good posture. Stand up straight, claim your space as your grandmother, the martial arts teacher, told you.

  • http://AMERICAblog.com/ John Aravosis

Generally I agree, but it looks like the guy knows aikido or something

  • SkippyFlipjack

wow that guy’s got strong hands.. he grabbed a gun with one hand from a guy holding it with two. funny that the robber’s first reaction is to sprint away immediately; wonder if the gun was even loaded.

  • FatRat

He’s damn lucky that shotgun didn’t take his head off. Give up the wallet, watch and smart phone, items can be replaced, only got one life.
