Quite honestly, who hasn’t thought about floating through the sky using an umbrella like Mary Poppins.
It looks so easy, and if you’re being carted up in the sky via an air balloon, surely it has to be even easier since you only need to gently float down, back to earth. Right?
Skydiver Erik Roner gave it a try and as he says at the end, “NASA’s going to be able to use that one.”
Basically he used an umbrella at the beginning of his jump to see if it would slow his descent, and it should one would think.
