Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! A lead GOP “media watchdog” group has concluded that gay conservatives, if they exist, are apparently really murderous Marxist spies. Or something:
The term “gay conservative” is being used by some news outlets in connection with the upcoming Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) and whether certain homosexual groups should be invited to appear. There is no such thing as a “gay conservative,” unless the term “conservative” has lost all meaning. But there is a homosexual movement that has its roots in Marxism and is characterized by anti-Americanism and hatred of Christian values….
Rather than debate whether “gay conservatives” exist or ought to have prominent speaking roles, CPAC should be sponsoring a panel on the dangers of the homosexual movement and why some of its members seem prone to violence, terror, and treason.
Well, only two members, actually – but who’s counting?
Accuracy in Media is kind of a conservative version of Media Matters, except, you know, crazy.
It seems the head of Accuracy in Media, Cliff Kincaid, is very upset that there’s a public discussion going on about CPAC, the lead conservative conference, having banned GOProud, a far-right loony-tunes Republican group that pretends to have something to do with being gay, though it’s not entirely clear what, since GOProud tends to provide cover for far-right Republicans, and more generally just whine a lot on Twitter.
But nonetheless, Kincaid is beside himself that the media is calling GOProud a “gay conservative” group. Kincaid thinks there’s no such thing, and that, rather, gays are Marxist and murderers, or something.
You see, Kincaid was able to find two examples of gay people doing bad things, so he’s concluded, with the impeccable logic of the fifth-grade deep-south schoolyard, that all gays are Marxist murderers.
Kincaid’s two big bad gay examples? Bradley Manning, who’s in trouble for providing hundreds of thousands of documents to Wikileaks, and some guy who brought a gun into the Family Research Council and shot a guard in the arm.
Bradley Manning, criminal mastermind that he is, apparently signifies that all gays hate America (which is why we’d been fighting for decades to get into the armed forces, so we can die for the country we hate). And the FRC shooter-guy is indicative of gays’ violent nature which has manifested itself, in the face of virulent anti-gay hate over the past half century, with exactly one incident of violence that anyone can point to: the nutty FRC shooter who, again it must be noted, shot one guy in the arm.
But of course, Kincaid has a point. He can point to the one gay guy who shot a security guard in the arm, and let’s face it, can you name even one heterosexual who ever hurt a fly?
Well, okay, there was that Hitler guy.
And Ted Bundy. And Timothy McVeigh. And Mohammad Atta. And all of these guys, who weren’t just straight, they were also conservative.
You know who else was heterosexual and conservative?
