Wolf-dog mothers a kitten (video)

My brother’s German Shepherd does this with kittens too.

It’s something to behold.

First some images from the video, then the video.

Wolf-dog happily sitting with kitten in the yard.

Kitten decides to go exploring.

Dog has had quite about enough with junior’s exploration of the yard.

Dog picks kitty up.

Carries kitty back to where we started.

And all is well.

It’s even stranger when it happens in reverse. We had a mother cat who mothered a border collie pup. It was a hoot when mama cat decided her big kitten wasn’t behaving properly. She would walk up to her kitten (who was by then grown), stand on her hind legs and box the kitten’s ears. You know the dog was incredibly good with her paws too.

I hate it when my lunch roams off on it’s own.
