Thank you. As it happens, today (Feb 7) is my 72nd birthday. I always loved Lucy! :-)

Ah, the world was a simpler place then. Not better, necessarily, just simpler.

Back then, Morocco was the place to be—with William Burroughs, Paul Bowles and all the rest. The Islamic world was the place to be, not just during the 1950s, but going back through all the ugly, narrow-minded centuries before that in Western countries. The Victorian Era, anyone? We have now switched places. The Western countries have just started to regain some of the sanity of Greco-Roman antiquity, but the Islamic world (since 1967) has lost the sanity it had during previous centuries. Switching places like that is fine with me since I’m American. It’s a pity that the Western countries and the Islamic countries can’t regain the tolerance and sanity of ancient times together. Nothing is perfect, I guess. Maybe someday, sanity will reign in both world regions, insha’Allah.
I can’t see the video (assuming you posted it, perhaps i need to update my browser) but I have seen it in the past. Awesome post and I Love Lucy lovers everywhere thank you!
