How 100s of kids believed two gay guys in Chelsea were Santa (video)

A really video from the NYT back in 2010:

Two New York City men feel a tremendous responsibility to respond properly when they mysteriously receive hundreds of letters addressed to Santa Claus at their Chelsea apartment.

Not just two NYC men. It’s a gay couple. It’s an adorable, poignant video of how they responded to the suddenly influx of letters to Santa arriving at their NYC apartment. It’s only 7 minutes long, totally worth the time.

Did anyone tell these guys that parents generally read their kids letter to Santa before they post them? I suspect that a lot of these kids are getting duplicate gifts, leading to interesting questions.

that’s awesome. does anyone else think that when Jim was thinking of the appropriate analogy for not being able to solve all the world’s problems he pictured Oskar Schindler saying “I could have saved more!” but thought better of using that example?

See, this is why homosexuals should not be allowed to marry or have any other rights in society. They want to make the world a better place, we can’t have that!

Did they ever figure out how the kids had their address, and are they still getting letters?

  • This is a heartfelt, touching story. And, as usual, the GLTBQ community sets the high bar for such human relations.
