“If only we had a more direct comparison to make here. Like another high-ranking government official passing what they knew at the time was misleading intelligence to the American public on a Sunday news show, also in line to become secretary of state, and was African American, and a woman, and lets say her name was also Rice. That’d be something.”

      Get Sadam Hussein for what? He had NOTHING to do with 9-11 which was the pretext that was used to justify our going to Afghanistan and Iraq. OBL was allegedly responsible for 9-11. bin Laden and Hussein are TWO totally different people.

    McCain’s defeat in the 2008 presidential race seems to have destroyed any common sense or decency he might have had before. I clearly remember McCain tricking Harry Reid in the summer of 2010 by slyly hinting that if Reid postponed the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell until after the Arizona Republican primary in August, McCain would be cooperative and not lead a filibuster. McCain’s operatives put out the word that McCain wanted the postponement so that he wouldn’t be embarrassed by the far-right-wing Tea Party candidate who was running against him in the August primary. And the trick worked. Reid postponed DADT repeal until after the Arizona primary in August. McCain thanked Reid by stabbing him in the back and mounting the loudest, most vicious filibuster in memory. Reid got fooled once, but I don’t think he’ll be fooled a second time.

    And what of the pathetic closet case, Lindsay Graham? He must have relatives who loathe his queer ass, n’est-ce pas? Uncle Zeke, Aunt Hattie, ad nauseum. Graham will perform any hateful, obstructionist mission in the vain hope that it will make his Christianist relatives love him, in spite of his queerness. I can’t help but be reminded of the occasional Internet commenter. What a world, what a world. L-a-u-g-h-i-n-g O-u-t L-o-u-d.

      One can never assume McCain had common sense or decency—quite the opposite. His history is full of moral and ethical outrages and he has left a mountain of human destruction in his path. In spite of his rhetoric Harry Reid has no balls whatsoever and can be depended to cave on the most important issues. Scarlet O’Lindsey can always be found dancing in the bubble of military drag and ‘let’s pretend.’ He is staring to resemble Aunt Pity Pat.

    There are good reasons to oppose Rice as Secretary of State, but this isn’t one of them. She and her husband own millions of dollars in stock in Canadian oil interests, which would benefit from the Keystone Pipeline decision, which comes under the jurisdiction of the State Department. She has a massive conflict of interests.
