A bit of good news, for once.
For followers of fish migrations and fish management, the return of wild salmon to California is a big deal. Between pollution and over fishing, many thought salmon were finished in any meaningful way there. It has been decades since they’ve seen salmon runs like this and it is giving hope to many that the future may be bright.
What some on the right may miss in this is that by working together (the fishing community, government and business) it is possible to find an outcome that works. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing as the right thinks. By cooperating, now there is a new food source as well as jobs for people. Is it really so difficult to cooperate?
