Rupert Murdoch calls phone-hacking victims “scumbags”

Leave it to News Corp CEO, and Republican favorite, Rupert Murdoch to put the “scum” in “scumbag.”

The list of victims in the illegal phone hacking by the News Corp team in the UK was in the hundreds, including the parents of a young girl who was murdered. The now-closed News Corp newspaper hacked into the young girls phone and kept information from both the police and the parents, because it apparently made for scintillating press.

When you look at the long list of victims and ruined careers of police who bought into this illegal activity, you would think that the person running the company would keep his mouth shut. But no, not Rupert.

There’s a reason why a UK parliamentary report found him “unfit” to run a global company. He remained quiet when the news broke that his employees were reported to have been hiding evidence, and while a UK police report showed that Murdoch’s paper showed disregard for the law and lied to the police.

But hey, no problem because he’s Rupert-freaking-Murdoch. He’s the guy that makes politicians wet their pants in fear because who knows what dirt his team might have? In this context, it’s no wonder that the leader of the media outlet that seems to have more legal problems than even the mafia is sticking his thumb in the eye of the victims. All from a distance, of course.

Remind me again why Democrats feed this classless jerk by going on his TV programs? The Guardian:

Rupert Murdoch has labelled victims of phone hacking “scumbag celebrities” after they met David Cameron during the Conservative party conference.

On Saturday night Murdoch took to Twitter to criticise the talks in Birmingham between the prime minister and members of the Hacked Off campaign, singer Charlotte Church, former Crimewatch presenter Jacqui Hames and actor Hugh Grant.

Murdoch tweeted: “Told UK’s Cameron receiving scumbag celebrities pushing for even more privacy laws. Trust the toffs! Transparency under attack. Bad.”

Notice how he’s too afraid to smear people to their face? The last time he went in public, he needed his much younger wife to step in and protect him from a dangerous cream puff pie to the face.

He looked like someone’s lost grandfather at that moment. which is probably why he avoids being in public these days. Maybe Twitter will be taken away from him next after his classless display.
