Maryland Senate passes marriage equality, bill heads to governor who will sign

The legislation doesn’t go into effect until after November, so the religious right and Sam Arora have the chance to repeal it first via a ballot initiative in November.  I sure hope the President figures out where he stands on marriage by then.  I’d hate for people to help get out the vote for him in states where they’re voting on marriage eqality – MD, ME, NC, MN – and they end up turning out people who will vote against our civil rights.  More on that in this post over at AMERICAblog.
