Trans civil rights bill about to go to governor in Mass.

Boston Globe:

The bill would protect transgender people in housing, credit, and the workplace, and would include transgender people under hate crimes protections.

Opponents have called the bill an invitation to lawsuits and a threat to small business. They have also said it was a distraction from working on economic initiatives.

“This bill does not promote business,” [Representative Marc Lombardo, a Billerica Republican] said. “We need to be focused on one thing in this Legislature: jobs, jobs, jobs.”

Right, because legislation that helps people get a job fairly, and not lose a job unfairly, has nothing to do with people getting jobs.

The hate I expect.  It’s the depth of the stupid that sometimes surprises me.
