Christie says he won’t run

The New York Times is reporting that Chris Christie’s advisors are saying he will not run. He has a press conference at 1pm today where he will presumably make that announcement.

This could be the final hurrah for Christie speculation this cycle. Of course, as the current crop of candidates continue to fail to excite GOP base voters, there might be another round of pundits and wealthy elites clamoring for Christie to enter the race. He could even stay out the entire primary and ride disenchantment to win at the convention, though it’s hard to believe things would get that far. But until the next round of Christie speculation, we bid him goodnight.
