Why are there no votes scheduled in the Senate until Monday afternoon?

We keep hearing excuses about how hard it’s going to be to get DADT repealed because there just isn’t that much time left in the lame duck session. Really? Then why are there no votes scheduled in the Senate today, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday morning?

Anybody else out there have today and Monday morning off of work? How about you troops who just lost a pay raise – you guys off of work today and Monday?

We’re about to lose control of the House, and last time we lost it, it took 12 years to get it back. You’d think the Senate might be interested in using all the time it has left to finish passing as much of our agenda as it can. They’ll have all the time in the world for 4 day weekends once Speaker Boehner takes over. Do we really need to explain that to the Senators setting the agenda? Or are the civil rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans just not that important to our Democratic leaders? How would you like it if we took a vacation in November of 2012?

I’m getting really tired of people giving us bullshit excuses for why they can’t keep their promises to our community. It’s starting to feel like there’s another reason. And it’s seriously starting to tick me off.
