Day 2 on DADT: Keep up the pressure on Target Senators

Posted this target list from SLDN yesterday — and it’s still operative. I’ve added twitter accounts for the Senators that have them.

Based on the schedule, which is always subject to change, the vote should occur around noon.

Again, the switchboard at the Senate is 202-224-3121. If you live in the state’s of any of these Senators call them ASAP. Tell them to put equality over procedure.

As we noted yesterday, Senator Collins is key — and that became very, very clear yesterday. She’s at the center of negotiations. This is her moment

The target list:

–Susan Collins (R-ME): 202-224-2523 @SenatorCollins

–Olympia Snowe (R-ME): 202-224-5344

–Richard Lugar (R-IN): 202-224-4814

–Judd Gregg (R-NH): 202-224-3324

–Scott Brown (R-MA): 202-224-4543 @USSenScottBrown

–George Voinovich (R-OH): 202-224-3353

–Lisa Murkowski (R-AK): 202-224-6665 @lisamurkowski

–Mark Kirk (R-IL): 202-224-2854 @Kirk4Senate

–Joe Manchin (D-WV): 202-224-3954 @JoeManchinWV

If you want some guidance on calling, SLDN has a sample script here.

On October 27, 2010, Joe was one of five bloggers who interviewed President Obama. Joe is a DC-based political consultant with over twenty-five years of experience at both the state and federal level. Joe has managed political operations and legislative efforts for both candidates and issues-based organizations. For seven years, he was the Director of State Legislation at Handgun Control, Inc. He served as that organization's first Political Director during the 2000 cycle. Joe is a graduate of the University of Maine School of Law. In addition, he has a Masters in Public Administration from Lehigh University and received his B.A. from the University of New Hampshire. Joe also has a fun dog, Petey, a worthy successor to Boomer, who got Joe through eight years of Bush and Cheney. Joe likes to think he is a world class athlete having finished the 2005 Chicago Marathon in the time of 4:10. He has completed six other marathons as well -- and is still determined to break the four hour mark.
