Leading Teabagger quits Montana group after leader is kicked out for anti-gay slurs

This morning, in the post about the leader of the Montana teabaggers getting kicked out because of his anti-gay comments, I included an update on one of the other Montana teabaggers, Kristi Allen-Gailushas:

Montana CowGirl reports that not all the Teabaggers in Montana are on board with this leave-the-gays alone strategy. In fact, Kristi Allen-Gailushas, “who is listed as secretary on the Big Sky Tea Party Association website” and also GOP candidate for State Rep., has “Declare[d] War on ‘the Gay Community.’” That one is a real piece of work.

Apparently, her war now is with the Montana Teabaggers. She’s quitting them. Again, via Montana Cowgirl:

The TeaParty/GOP candidates and supporters in Montana portray themselves as violent lunatics, and they have even declared war. Now, in another nice piece of reporting by the Helena IR, it appears that Republican House Candidate Kristi Allen-Gailushus is leaving the Tea Party over their decision to oust its president over his bigoted remarks. It’s back to the GOP for her.

Apparently, the GOP is a safer place to be a homophobe.

Here’s the report from the Helena IR:

Kristi Allen-Gailushas, secretary of the Big Sky Tea Party Association and Republican nominee for a Helena-area legislative seat, is quitting the group following its removal of president Tim Ravndal for anti-gay comments made on his Facebook page.

“They didn’t even listen to Tim and what he had to say,” she said. “They were just worried about the [Montana] Human Rights Network and the ACLU and what they were going to say.”

The Montana Human Rights Network advocates for gay rights and had called for Ravndal’s removal.
