FightBackNY has another target: Sen. William T. Stachowski

If there was one message that came through loud and clear after the marriage equality bill was defeated in the New York State Senate last year, it was this: If we want to win our equality, we have to elect pro-equality candidates. And, we have to defeat those who vote against equality. That’s what FightBackNY is doing:

A gay rights group is joining the campaign against Democratic State Sen. William T. Stachowski of Lake View by blanketing Erie County voters with a mailing that urges his defeat.

FightBackNY, an organization that favors gay marriage, said Tuesday that it is distributing the fliers in the same way that it campaigned against now-expelled Sen. Hiram Monserrate of Queens.

Open Left’s Adam Bink, who is from upstate New York, has more on this race.

Barney Frank is always saying that LGBT activists have to be more like the NRA. Well, I worked against the NRA for years. This is what the NRA does. They defeat their opponents in elections, often in primaries. Losing is the only thing that strikes fear into elected officials.
