American Family Association: ‘Gay Sex = Domestic Terrorism’

I must admit, there have been a few guys…. but I digress.

America’s Taliban does it again. It’s hard to just grab a snippet of this post. It goes from dirty needle bombs, to AIDS, to gay terrorism, to DADT. A real tour de force of bigotry, and insanity, from the nutjobs over at the American Family Association.

“Gay Sex = Domestic Terrorism”

Yes, that’s actually the title of the latest screed from the American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer:

Some of England’s leading newspapers – The Sun, the Telegraph, the Daily Mail – all had feature stories yesterday about the latest Taliban terror tactic: burying dirty needles with their bombs in an effort to infect troops with HIV. They are planting hypodermic syringes below the surface with the points facing upward in hopes that bomb squad experts will prick themselves and become contaminated with hepatitis and HIV.

If the bomb goes off, then the needles become deadly flying shrapnel.

Said a member of Parliament, “Are there no depths to which these people will stoop? This is the definition of a dirty war.”

If we connect the dots here, the inescapable conclusion is that gay sex is a form of domestic terrorism.

He then goes on to explain how we thus shouldn’t repeal DADT.

Of course, what the bigots at the AFA either don’t realize, or don’t want you to know, is that all of their anti-civil-rights arguments fall flat when you realize that there already ARE gays in the military, and it’s okay under the current policy. You can’t be openly gay, but you can be gay. So to suggest that somehow openly gay service members will be a problem, when closeted service members under the current policy are not a problem, is simply flat out inconsistent and wrong.

Then again, the AFA is probably still smarting from the time we beat them in that Ford thing. Sucks to have two guys with a blog beat one of the top multi-million dollar organizations of the religious right.
