Obama expected to announce lifting of HIV travel ban Friday

This is big news, and good news. And long time coming. We are finally seeing some real progress, and that is a very good thing. But we can’t forget how we got to this point. It’s been a long, slow, and sometimes bad year. Things are turning around, after a lot of us, a lot of you, raised a lot of hell. It shouldn’t have been necessary.

Hopefully the next three years won’t be nearly as difficult as this past year has been. But if they are, rest assured, we’re watching, and we’ll be there. In the meantime, the President has earned our praise, and today he gets it. Here’s to him earning it tomorrow as well.
