Right-winger in Maine compares new marriage law to clear-cutting forests

Bob Emrich, one of the leading haters in Maine, has an absurd op-ed in today’s Portland Press Herald. Apparently, our relationships now have some equivalency to clear-cutting forests — or something like that. It’s really absurd:

I don’t know anyone who looks across acres of clear-cut land and calls it “tree equality.”

But that makes as much sense as looking at the extreme changes to Maine’s marriage law approved recently by Gov. Baldacci and calling it “marriage equality.”

You know these gay haters would live to figure out a way to just clear the world of the LGBT community. Their obsessive hatred knows no bounds. And, we’ll see it of full display in Maine for the next few months.

We’re starting to get a sense of the craziness on the other side in Maine. The campaign needs every dollar it can raise to fight back against the vitriol. So give what you can. It really matters. Our ActBlue page is an easy, safe way to make direct contributions to No on 1/Protect Maine Equality.
