Weekend sunset, Cabourg

Just back in from a weekend in the Pays d’Auge, Normandy. Somehow we managed to sneak in two of the 45 days (average per year) of full sun and perfect weather to celebrate Joelle’s birthday. We even came back with apples from our friend’s garden as well as a bag of fresh chestnuts to roast for our next meal. They aren’t as pretty to look at but are full of flavor and much better than the usual shiny red, store bought varieties. We dipped our toes in the icy sea in Cabourg and then ran to dinner with friends, celebrating with a big plate of fruits de mer.
